First visit to Fairlight early this morning and it was beautiful.  Sun was shining and the scenery was just stunning- I even managed a little swim.  Hopefully I will return before my week here is over.

Good for you Jim, I have no idea where fairlight is but it sounds nice, enjoy your stay.

Managed another 3 mornings on this lovely beach and recommend it to anyone visiting the Hastings area - best to get there at low tide if you want to get the best of it.

Getting to Fairlight is a mission (but getting back tests your stamina and fitness). From the car park go down the path and follow it around to the right . Then follow the track to the left about 70m past the bend and keep going down. It takes about 20 minutes to walk down. Only hidden thing to do is near the bottom where you need to climb the little wooden fence.
I expect others have other routes but I've had several people getting grief who took the shorter route through the farm.

It's pay and display which I have seen getting monitored fairly frequently. I've never heard of any probs but where is safe these days?
