Having had a run in along with 20 others with a wet behind the ears and ignorant PCSO after the force decided they had nothing better to do than run a very expensive helicopter down the beach one day last year, I was rather shy of using the beach much after that. We have ventured down a couple of times this year on the hottest days and it has been tumbleweeds insofar as naturists are concerned with the usual few furtive singles and none of the couples we were used to seeing before. We have however had two good days this last weekend, after I wasn't able to enjoy any of the blistering weather last week while away. It was not as hot, but certainly hot enough. On the Sunday after 5pm it was so quiet on the naturist stretch I was able to enjoy a 5 minute walk down the beach and back and THAT is a red letter occurrence! The beach was rather quieter due probably to a gala in the town thankfully drawing away many other beach users. The weather was truly glorious especially on the Saturday with a very warm wind. Usually when you stand up outside the windbreak it is Capt Scott time off the North Sea.
It is not however, naturism as I really enjoy it, and although a few hours spent reading behind a windbreak has its moments, the freedom to be able to amble a little and feel comfortable is not there, until very late on in the day.

Such a pity.. But makes me realise how lucky I am to live within reach of Eastney, the contrast couldn't be greater. At Eastney the naturist and textile beaches join together, with no gap, and are both just a minute or so from the free car park. As yet I've never seen any issues there.
So if you're ever "dan sarf" I can recommend Eastney. OK it's not sand, but you can't have everything!
Boundaries are there to be stretched!
No sand suits me just fine barelee!
Yes, you are fortunate darn sarf. It is not just the fact you do have most of the official or semi official beaches but there is a greater tolerance generally.
The mere fact of being able to stroll for a few minutes is worthy enough of a post! Having said that, it is fair to say we have never been bothered by dog walkers but we do keep behind the windbreak for most of the day. Some others do push the envelope somewhat by walking naked right down to the shoreline and back which can be argued that you have a right to do and I would be as assertive of my rights to use the beach as much as anyone else on there but unfortunately the politics surrounding the place is so bad, I am extremely unwilling to make a point of that kind, which could be counter-productive.
The police situation is very confused as it always has been but we did hear on the grapevine that the police will not make any issue if you are that dreaded word discreet ie behind a windbreak and so have cautiously started using the beach again.

LOL - I remember 'bracing' days at Atwick and Spurn Point when I was a young 'un. We used to love going to Spurn though, so much space to run around and it seemed to be a long long drive from my hometown of Selby and slightly 'exotic' ( by Yorkshire standards, anyway 🙂 )
It's a shame there's been so much trouble with Fraisthorpe over the years, I recall my parents discussing it in the seventies. There are miles and miles of empty beach in Holderness between Brid and Spurn - surely a decent stretch could be allocated to naturists without upsetting too many people. Like Barelee says, we're pretty lucky down south - I never really regretted moving down here..
weve avoided fraisthorp beach after hearing so much about the hassles, pity its about the nearest beach to us
Yes it is a shame. When our children were toddlers and we were in Yorkshire on holiday we went to Fraisethorpe on several occasions and we all stripped off and and had some lovely times there with no hassle. This was, of course, before the bigots and prudes started their harrassment

We also used to go to Fraisthorpe beach with our lads when they were young.Never any problems and also well frequented.

It is very hard to describe the inner enjoyment of being naked .
