Hi Can anyone recommend places near Cambridge / Bedford border that is good for a nudist walk. Happy for meadows or woodland. River even better 🙂

Thanks in anticipation

Try the River Cam north of Waterbeach station. I used to walk there some years ago and there were long stretches where you were well out of sight of any habitation.

Most rivers in Cambridgeshire have footpaths alongside - many are on top of flood banks so offer good lines of sight. When we on our boat we only see the occasional walker or cyclist.
It is always easier if the family know or take part.  If you get to that stage then consider the Cambridge Outdoor club - here your family can relax and play in safe surroundings.

Oh there are many. All you need to do is look at maps, public right of ways, and do a bit of clothed walking at different times to see if the places are suitable.

Thanks Peter and Andy.

I am hoping that by finding a site that does not have a different agenda will support my introduction to my family that nudism is normal.  I have contacted C.O.C for a possible visit but have not heard back as yet.

Have been plotting on google maps Peter as a couple of free days coming up 🙂

Andy have a look at wheresthepath.com  it gives you more visibility of footpaths and  bridleways alongside maps so you can plan better routes

Yes you can ask lol 😉

Seriously I don't really do it much. Did a few years ago because my work meant I had free time in the middle of the day which is the best time for walking. People are at work mostly.

But when I did I was more of a wood walker rather than country footpaths. I find it more relaxing and if you walk regularly in the same wood you become aware of your surroundings and the sound of the woods so you tend to know if there is anyone else in the area.

Have a look at Aversley woods (I think that's what it's called) near Sawtry.  Just hit the A1 and go north a bit - I think it's off junction 15)

You get dog walkers there so you need to pick the right time but there's no parking close by so you get fewer casual visitors. You can walk for a hour and never see or hear anyone but you'll have a 10 minute walk to reach the woods from the road where you'll need to park.

Will check out your suggestions.

Where do you frequent now??  Doesn't seem to be much around the Cambridge way.

Andy  🙂

Long story but I dont really go walking like that anymore.  My work has changed and I actually get quite a lot of oportunity to work nude which means I dont feel a need to get out there and 'escape' from my clothes.

I did walk a lot a few years ago and more often not locally because work took me out of town. Really its something you need to experiment with but I would stress that you must get to know the woods well before you start stripping off there. You need to know the paths. The times people go and the kind of people.

And remember - if you get it wrong and end up with a complaint it can ruin the location for other naturists that might then be watched more closely. If that makes sense.

I contacted C.O.C and when I got a call back as soon as I said it was just for me the answer was ' we do have a long waiting list so shall we just forget about it'. Hope you fare better.

Thanks for the words of wisdom AndyS. Im intrigued by your job - very fortunate to spend time nude at work! I have no chance of that!

I have heard nothing NakedMarch!  Blackthorns reply was long waiting list for single.  Still puzzled why I am single when I am married lol

Weekend is near. Have a good one.

Andy

I set up as a painter and decorator just last year. My first few customers already knew me as a naturist and some are happy for me to work that way. Then when I get referred on to new customers the word sometimes gets passed on.  So I quite often find myself able to work in nothing which is much more relaxing.

Previously I was a freelance photographer so had time during the day in between jobs.
