Could any members (or canal boat skippers) tell me in their experience what they think  the ratio of good days to not so good days one can expect in Lanzarote or Furetventura
In January or February. We were thinking of going away early next year but only have a weeks annual leave to spare. If it was longer then the odd few days of bad weather wouldn't matter. As  I said " In their experience" so I am not expecting anyone to predict the weather.

We had one week last February (about late middle) at Magic Life, Fuerteventura. 3 days were good temp mid 20s,,  Two days of showers, still warm enough to sunbathe in pool area but had to dodge the showers .  And one day very windy with exceptionally heavy rain, it flooded the main reception area and they were unable to cope with amount of water!  Our travelling days from and to the airport were lovely!! Our avatar picture was taken on one of the good days -others in media section. We are off to Fuerteventura again departing Gatwick Boxing day for 10 days so hope its good then.

My experience of northern Fuerteventura is that you can get two or three poor days in succession but this will only happen on less than one week in ten.
In any case the bad days will be OK if you can find somewhere out of the wind and I understand the south of the island is more protected than the north.
In any case I have never known more than one rainy day at a time and they are not too cold for nude swimming (or natural showers).

We've been flooded in Lanzarote over New Year, and we were also flooded during late January in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura which was pretty much a wash out for the week. Mind, it's going to be warmer than in the UK and you'd be unlucky to get a whole 7 days written off.

Having said that, we try to improve the statistical odds in January and February by sticking to the south or south-west of Gran Canaria; or failing that, the south-west coast of Tenerife. That bit further south can make a difference, as can the more significant mountains that protect the south-west coasts. Actually, more or less the same goes for the smaller island of La Gomera too - we're off there at the end of this month.

Obviously it's a different naturist experience to Lanzarote or Fuerteventura, but still plenty of opportunities.

Have a great time whatever you decide.

Mike

I think if you choose to go later you'd have much higher chance of all-out sun
I went to Tenerife last week in March [clothed unfortunately] followed by 1st week in April at Corralejo - it was sheer bliss - set me up for the whole year

Not the easiest of sites to navigate, but there's a wealth of historical (and current) weather information here.

Thank you all for the info. We will wait until the new year to decide,  I have seen a villa at charco del palo . It has a shared pool and it looks as if it is sheltered from the wind so that is an option.

We've been to Fuerteventura twice, both times to the Monte Marina naturist apartments on the Jandia peninsular in the south of the island. Both times it was early season and both times we only had 1 bad day in 2 weeks. The beaches there are fantastic and you can walk naked for miles. Most Brits tend to go to the north of the island but we can thoroughly recommend the south.

Thanks for all your replies, I think I should have posted in "Have you been there" so mods move this if you think you should.
Things have moved on a bit. After reading some of the replies to this post, and posts on other threads. we are now thinking of dipping our toes into all inclusive for the first time.
We have narrowed it down to Club magic life, and club Furetventura princess. Both in Jandia. Both have naturist areas, but club Furetventura princess has dedicated adult rooms and adult areas. The reviews on trip advisor generally seem to favour club magic life. Although one did warn potential guests to watch out for "Nudests" which made us smile.
Club Magic life is coming in quite a bit cheaper, but club princess looks to be the nicer looking hotel will probably book tomorrow night.

Magic Life had was all Inclusive 247 including help yourself to bottles of chilled water. We spent 7 Euros in the week! Reports of other hotels say free drinks stop at 11.00pm and water is handed out by the glass.  If you go to Magic life ask for room in block 19 -nearest to naturist pool

We went via Thompson holidays booked at local travel agent where we requested room in block 19. I think I also emailed hotel directly. Be aware that hotels here are remote. You need to go to Jandia for restaurants and bars. As will be dark you need taxis. We stayed around complex all the week.

That's what we had in mind. We thought it would be nice not to have to make a decicion on where to eat, or have to shop for groceries.
