My wife and I are planning to go to Maderia. I have done some research but have not found any inforation about anywhere to swim/sunbathe nude. Has anyone been? Any suggestions? Thanks.
If you're looking for naturism, I have heard more than once that Madeira is the wrong island to choose.
In case you haven't seen this:

Although if you do find somewhere, be sure to let us know.
Its not really an ideal place for naturists. There are very few, if any, beaches, so most sunbathing places are lidos, linked to the hotels. I suspect that any opportunities for naturism would be round private pools, or very secluded spots.
I would agree with the comments on this and the other thread. Madeira really does not have beaches, let alone naturist ones. We were there last year, staying at the Pestana Grand in Funchal, and were fortunate to get an apartment that had a sea view and yet was not really overlooked so we were able to get some good naked time on the balcony.

Nevertheless it is a lovely island and I would happily go back there.
Afraid have to agree with above posts, best hope for a sunny terrace. The upside is perhaps a trip to Porto Santo accessible by air or a bumpy boat trip.
It is a which is a pretty sparsly populated desert island with a 9km sandy beach on the S Side. See Wiki...

I was there about 30 years ago with the first Mrs Andy and certainly the beach would have provided naturist opportunities.
For the sun and naturism Canaries every time I think. Fuerteventura the tops list.
