I appreciate that this is kitten feed to what you are used to, but today I committed to not dressing this morning and spending the day without clothing, regardless of whether I was inside or outside.  My rear garden is enclosed, so venturing out there causes no problems with the neighbours.  Though one neighbour could see into small areas of my garden which I have not ventured into, from one of her bedroom windows.
This is the first time that I have spent more than just half an hour or so, indoors without clothes.  And I have to admit that it does create a liberated and utterly free feeling.  I have worked, inside and outside, with the only inhibition being the force of the March winds and the temperature today.  In all other respects I have been amazed to find that I have hardly been conscious of being undressed.  I have done what I normally do, but in a very much more contented and relaxed fashion.  It is only as the afternoon has passed and the temperature has really dropped that I came in and dressed to go out to the local shops.
As I said, what I have done today is of no consequence in terms of naturism activity, but today I have stepped across a previously restricting line, and feel exhilarated to have done so.
In addition  have contacted my local swim to arrange a trial experience/information visit.
I feel more positive now, than apprehensive.
A progressive day  😀

Indeed, it's nice to enjoy the freedom of being nude and carrying on your daily routine. Still a bit too cold at the moment, but I look forward to warmer months when I can remain naked throughout the day.

Well done.
It's downhill from there..lol
You'll soon be not bothering to dress at all unless you have to.
Stay warm and naked.

A typical reaction to a very significant small step.
Beware - you are likely to become totally addicted to the naturist life.  ;D

Yes.  More so than I could possibly have imagined.
And the really good thing to come out of the experience has been to put the whole business of nakedness into perspective within my own mind.
On previous occasions when I have undressed, for only a short while, I have been troubled with the consciousness that it may be something of a 'weird' trait in me: a sort of mischievousness - and I'm much to old for mischief.  🙂  I have always found that particularly unsettling.
Well today has eradicated that feeling altogether.  I have experienced a wholesomeness - almost as if I had stepped into something which I had considered doing many times before, but backed away from, because of the 'weird' thing.
The result of today's activity is a gladness that I have plucked up the courage to do something which should have been done a long time ago.

😀
Thank you Valleyman

Thank you for the welcome Sean.

The next milestone for me is to do so with others present.  I'm trying not to think too much about that at the present moment.  😀
Hopefully I may get the opportunity to participate at my local swim introduction visit, sometime during April.
As yet it is probably to cold to have many people discarding their clothes in happy abandon.  I'm a Northumbrian by birth, so I have a fairly good tolerance to low temperatures.
I'm taking things a day at a time at the moment.  There's no rush.  🙂

This is exactly the point that I feel at. I am comfortable nude in my own home but need to find an acceptable way to be nude when others are present, not just in the privacy of my own home. It's a big step. I am interested in your progress and might well copy you if you report a good experience.
It's the worry about being nude in front of others for the first time and wondering how you will react that's the next big step to get over.

As others have stated welcome to the 'club' and going to a nudist swim is the best way to get used to being around others nude - but it really is no big thing at all, other than people do tend to be much more open to talk than in textile places.

The next big thing for is your reaction if you 'get caught' i.e. if you are  out in the garden and someone comes around unexpected. In my view, the best reaction is none at all, just act as though you had clothes on, if you over react it puts them in the situation that they should not have seen you and it then gets difficult.

You obviously have some psychic ability.  😀

This morning, exactly that situation arose.  My neighbour, a divorced lady, of approximately the same age as myself, spoke to me over the fence dividing our properties, which has a small trellised panel at the top, to ask me a question.  She had obviously stood on something on her side of the fence and looked through the trellis.  (normally I can only see her if I myself am close to the fence) 'Oh', she exclaimed, 'you've got no clothes on'.  I said 'no', smiled, and stepped close to the fence so that she could see only my head and shoulders, to save her embarrassment.
My action was without thought or conscious effort.
She said that she was shocked, and I explained that I was exploring the possibilities and opportunities of naturism.  She smiled, and said that she would be interested to know how it progressed.  Then stepped off whatever she was standing upon and hurried indoors.

She quite forgot to ask the question.  😀

And it all happened so quickly that I really did not have time to react adversely.  It will be interesting now to see how long it takes before the local grapevine begins to be active.  I anticipate some ribald comments from some of my male friends, and possibly some reserved attitudes from some of my female neighbours.

Too late now.  "the deed is done"      😀 😀

Good luck with the neighbours JFO. Of course, the best way to think about their reaction if it's at all negative is that it's their problem not yours. If it's accepting then you might become a nudism lifestle ambassador and stimulate a little bit of thought.

Thank you almac.
I'm not sure that luck will enter the equation with my neighbours.  🙂
They are mostly a good bunch, with a sense of humour, and a ready acceptance of most of my foibles, peculiar or otherwise.  I have lived here for 30 years and they know me well.  I have never been an ambassador, or an icon, for anything before. Somehow I don't think that it will happen.  😀 😀  If you could see me, you would understand why.  🙂

I wish you well with your progress into this world of naturism.
My thoughts are: -    one step at a time.  There is nothing to rush for.

Thank you smash.

It seems to be turning out very well, smash.

The sun is shining here this morning - I have completed the work that I need to do today, so I set my chair in the garden and enjoyed the sun, with a cup of tea and a book.  My lady neighbour came into her garden with a female friend, whom I also know to speak to, and said good morning to me, over the fence, to which I replied.  My back was to the fence, so whether either of them looked over it I have no idea.
Also, another neighbour, who could see me by peering intently through foliage at the boundary of my garden if they really wished to, was loading his car with luggage, with his wife, preparatory to going on an Himalayan holiday.  I decided to remain exactly where I was.  Though I was initially tempted to drop my book and rush indoors.  😀 😀
I am pleased that I stayed where I was.  It was another small victory for me.  Whether they saw me through the foliage I have no idea.  Neither am i worried, if they did so.
Thankfully, they are the sort of couple who would quite happily say 'so you like to sunbathe naturally then?', with a smile on their face, and no apparent animosity, even if they disapproved.

So, another hurdle cleared.

That has turned out well, I'm sure that after the initial curiosity they will realise you are doing no harm in the confines of your own garden.
