I am thinking of taking my 20ft sailing day boat to Croatia. Does anyone have experience of launching such boats from naturist campsites in Croatia? How good are the slipways? Any recommendations please?
Thanks
Richard
Not an answer to your question, but if you are contemplating this, do make sure that the tyres on the trailer are at least "R" rated (100+ MPH) as any lesser rating tends to fail under the continuous hot weather high speed running if such a journey, (but I'm probably preaching to the converted anyway).

It' not very likely that NC members would have direct experience of this. It might be wise to email the naturist resorts you intend to visit to ask what facilities they have. Valalta does have the only marina that is naturist, but whether it has what you need I couldn't say.

All the sailing I have done in Croatia is on yacht charter so I can't help you with specific locations. One thing I would expect is that launching charges will apply to just about anywhere you want to launch. I have never moored or anchored overnight anywhere in Croatia for free like you would in Greece.
You could try and contact the ACI group of marinas.

John also makes a valid point, trailer regulations on the continent generally can be more stringent than in the UK.

Valalta has a big marina with a slipway. They charge EUR10 per day for a place in marina and 5 euro if you keep your boat on shore.
Thanks for the various comments. Valalta looks to be a good option even if the campsite charges are on the high side.
that's true, they are expensive, but the campsite is the best we have been so far. We keep going there every year.
I just remembered, that Solaris has a slipway but no marina as such. They are slightly cheaper though.
For the record I did end up taking my boat to Valalta. Excellent slipway and marina and good sailing in the area. So worth the cost and the trouble.
Glad you enjoyed it. We visited Valalta for the first time in May/June (not with a boat) and loved it.

That looks a rather fine Bayraider. I still A Baycruiser 20 in Poole Harbour. Do you ever get there? I shall be brining her home in a couple of weeks, but will be back down there next year.

Julian,
Yes it is a fine BR20! I have had her just three seasons and have trailed her to Cornwall (3 times), Devon, Venice, Croatia, Brittany and Sweden but not yet to Poole/Studland. Maybe next year!
