Tonight, after doing a bit of extra weekend work, I went to a nude swim session in Swindon for some much needed relaxation. Steam rooms, hot rooms, plunge pool, jacuzzi, showers and a lovely big swimming pool all to our naked selves.

The turn out was about 50% gay men, 45% straight couples and 5%me. Very friendly and very relaxed though and I really enjoyed it, despite a hint of that 'first time here, what do I say and where do I look?' syndrome.

I couldn't believe that I found myself completely starkers and dripping with perspiration in a hot room whilst talking about football. I love naturists even more now because they all seem to agree with me that Leeds United's 15 point deduction was totally unjust.

Single males, and anybody else who feels like turning up, are welcome there and, don't worry, the conversation isn't total football.

Good old Swindon.

If we were meant to be nude, we would have been born that way.

Well I am very happy you did enjoy that experience and U really wish I was coning next time so to share more time with friendly people just like you.- I assume we would have a long conversation about our favorite teams.

I belong to a naturist-association here in Rome and twice a month we do have these pool meetings but people seem less interesting. Mostly couples (straight but this is not relevant I think) and few single males, some kids, it looks like they made private circles and it is not easy to enter them so after a while it is easy to see some alone men standing still at borders getting bored because to tally ignored and uncontrolled kids playing in a very impolite way and screaming all the time.

So now I am seriously thinking about renewing my subscription....

Ciao ciao Alex

Good old Swindon.

It certainly was unjust, especially in light of Lutons 30 points imposed yesterday!!!

Great story though, im hoping to do something very similar, not been nude in public yet. There are a couple of swims within half hours drive so might try one of those in the first instance. Just wish there was someone I knew to come along and give me confidence.

It was not my first time nude in public, but in the early 80's I noticed several cars parked at Tooting Bec Lido at 5 a.m. on a summer morning.
Subsequently, I took my swimming things down and joined them over the fence for an early morning dip (many of us left the standard admission charge at the desk).
As several of the swimmers were skinny-dipping I joined in. I can still remember the lovely feel of the water on my bottom as I took that first swim.
This continued until Wandsworth Council built a new high fence round the pool.

Boo to Wandsworth Council.

Whilst working in the public service we used to go skinny dipping in the local park whilst working nights. We only stopped when the rumour started in the press that there were naked goings on in the local park. Boo to the press!

Boo to Wandsworth Council.

A quick update on that:

Subsequently Wandsworth decided to close the lido but South London Swimming Club managed to get it kept open and took over the running of the winter and early morning sessions while Wandsworth ran the daytime summer sessions.
SLSC committee made a ruling that costumes must be worn after 7am but you could stretch that a bit if you had entered the water in good time and wanted to complete a mile swim or similar.
This worked OK for years until Wandsworth outsourced its leisure facilities in 2001. The privatised organisation insisted on costumes at all times.

Boo to the privatised organisation.

In fact, boo to all privatised organisations.

Getting back to the public swimming baths theme, I've just started going to my local baths for a swim to get some exercise.  It's not a nude swim unfortunately but the shorts I wear are so light it feels I'm only wearing the waist band, and they are very loose so there is a risk they might ride up in the water and reveal a bit more than the old biddies there are expecting  ðŸ˜®

When I was there yesterday I spotted a 'male group changing room' so I'll start using that to get changed from now on instead of the cubicles.  That means I'll at least be able to spend a few moments there naked but you can bet I'll be the only one in there most if not all of the time.  There's only a handful of folk use the baths when I'm there and while the ladies have proved approachable and chatty, not one of the guys has even said hello.

Early days yet, but I'm hoping to at least discuss the prospect of a naked session being set up some time in the future.  I'll keep you posted.

My local baths are the same. The cubicles are so small, and hot. There's a family changing room that is always empty as I go at a time unsiutable for the kids. I too have to wear the dreaded trunks and it would be so easy to walk out of the cubicle with nowt on!  ðŸ˜® Bet I'd soon be thrown out if I did!
The visit to the baths is for me too an excercise thing and guess what, no-one speaks to any one else. @Suppose I'm guilty of not chatting too, buts it's a quick thrash up and down on the way home.
