I do apologise if this has been covered elsewhere but as a new-comer to naturism and to this HUGE forum I havn't found an answer yet!
It appears from a number of web sites that there are two potential beaches in northumberland that can be used for stripping off on. The nearest one to me is Druridge Bay with Ross sands a bit further up the coast.
I have read a few comments on here where people have said that Druridge Bay is no longer an accepted naturist beach but the various other web-sites still have it listed. Does anyone know what the situation is here? I would be devastated to go there for my first ever bit of nude sun-bathing and to then land myself in a load of trouble with the Police (or worse still dodgy single men!).
If anyone could provide any advice here it would be massively appreciated.
From other comments it sounds like Ross Sands is the far better option, but again with this one people have commented that one end of the beach is used by naturists but havn't said (unless I have missed it) whether this is the north end or the south. As I say, I am building up to my first time on a beach and am quite apprehensive about it so would prefer to go armed with as much information before hand as possible!!
Many thanks in advance of any help here and again apologies if I am asking stupid questions or covering old ground.
🙂

Iv'e been to Druridge bay last year when the skinny dip was on it's a nice beach and although the water was freezing it was only waist deep even for some distance away from the beach. Never been to Ross Sands but if anyone fancies going up some time at the weekend I would be interested.
I would love to go up one weekend but would need to find a good excuse for telling the wife - she certainly wouldn't understand "just popping off to the beach to get naked" ... worse still if I said I was meeting some friends!! Lol!!

Went Ross sands cpl of weeks ago, was there from 9.am to dinner time ish, we had swim then sat in dunes , v quiet, amazing place,
Some wonderful pictures.
It does sound like the better choice of beach than Druridge Bay then shadowchaser. I am not sure about swimming though - it must have been freezing!!

More paddling and splashing I must admit, was one of the rare warm days of this year
I was thinking about going to ross sands, probably about a 2 hour drive but didn't want to waste a day if being naked and relaxed would not be possible. I don't mind meeting up with someone for an hour or so to break the day up.

Ah! So you arn't quite as brave as I thought you are then!! Haha!! Still, I bet it was still a wonderful time - I need to get my act together and just do it rather than talking about it I think!!

Bring her with you then she can see for herself that nothing untowards is going on - let me know when you fancy going and we can meet up if you like.

I'm up in Northumbria this weekend. I'm hoping to find time to visit Ross Sands. You can recognise me by an embarssing tattoo!
Hi. I have been to Druridge twice this summer with my girlfriend and we have spent both days naked at the back of the beach on the edge of the dunes, and we were aware of another couple further along, at the north end, past the turning circle road end. As long as you are discreet and keep a reasonable distance from other people there should not be any problem. I think diplomacy is the key! It is a lovely beach and the sea has warmed up a bit now as well !
If anyone else fancies a trip up there perhaps we all could meet up sooner rather than later like has been said before safety in numbers.
