Camping about the same distance to either of these beaches next weekend.  Will be our first trip to a naturist beach together, weather dependant!  A sort of warm up before heading to Gran Canaria later in the year. My girlfriend is (wrongly) nervous as she has put a bit of weight on since her last trip. Just after a quite spot for some sunbathing. Been to Studland before but not Ringstead. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about body issues. There are people of all shapes and sizes, and no one will be looking. Enjoy your time there, and have a great holiday too.

Thank you. I don't think she has anything to worry about, she's gorgeous but fingers crossed for sunshine!

Studland is a good place to go. Also Calshot has a nudist beach. I see you are in Salisbury so only up the road from me.

you may find Studland to be quite busy - so depends on whether she'd feel more comfortable with lots of naked people around ( & so realise she's nothing to be embarrassed about ) or somewhere relatively quiet

I really should have been born on a tropical island

You may have the place to yourself at Ringstead, especially if you follow the beach round to underneath White Nothe , although it's a fair hike anyway.  Last time I was at Ringstead I was bothered by annoying flies which were attracted to the seaweed.

Other possibilites - west of Durdle Door , just keep walking along the beach towards Bat's Head.
Or if you fancy total privacy. Park at Tyneham village on Lulworth Ranges and walk down to Worbarrow Bay , then a long trudge west as far as you can go - fantastic bit of beach.  Studland Bay will be busy, but no-one will bat an eyelid as long as you keep out of the dunes.

I think the main issue's going to be that elusive sunshine  🙂

Ringstead's the place to go if you want to get away from it all - including the crowds. But it's a fair trek to get there. However, once there it's an idyllic location!

I too have an issue with being on the large side and was worried about going to the beach (i used to hate going as a textile let alone naturist because of my body) I soon learnt  within seconds  of visiting the beach  nobody takes any notice and also there are others of all shapes  there too. I have also learnt to appreciate my body and  would recommend studland (have never been to ringstead  so cant  comment on that)

It might be a trek to get to the beach ,the walk can be a beautiful one depending where you choose to walk from.

Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.

Ringstead & Studland are two very different beaches in that the latter is massively popular with 2/3rd's of a mile of golden sands, dunes/ heathland and relatively easy accessibility - it has more in common with Bristol Channel beaches than English Channel ones, while Ringstead is more off the beaten track despite a car park, shop, toilets etc. farther along the bay and much smaller in area and, when I was there, sloped steeply into the sea with a strong undercurrent, the stones can be hard work but nevertheless a beautiful spot. Never tried the beach near Durdle Door, only Cogden, which is further west between West Bexington & Burton Bradstock which is stony like Ringstead. Didn't know about Warbarrow - thanks Jonny.
