I have not been here long, but I am unfortunately going to have to give this place a 'non' already. What sort of naturist resort makes you feel uncomfortable walking around nude after dark (and I'd hate to be a woman here)? As a fan of midnight walks along the beach, I went on one only then found myself getting leered at by the 'libertines'. And wondering if getting caught on all the video cameras they were filming themselves is going to come back to bite me - i am involved with some community facing projects that would not look kindly to me appearing on a german porn clip.
Lots of clothed people around too, even before the kinky outfits come out at night.
Its not all bad, the beach is fantastic, nudity is expected there, and the 'swinger' section is thankfully small and far up the beach, but again, it seems once it gets dark it is all libertine territory.
Shopping nude is fine, although I did notice a fetish shop doing a demonstration on the way to the spar. Which I could have done without.
I'll be able to get a week in entirely clothes free and naturist, but with the cavet that I curfew myself to the apartment when the sun goes down. I did see families on the beach, but I would have second thoughts about bringing my own here. Might be slightly more fun as a couple, the couples only foam party sounds fun, but any girl Ive ever dated would be put off naturism with the other stuff that goes on here.
La Jenny for me next year methinks. Or maybe euronat, or Levant island. Whatever fits my single/couple status at the time.
Should have did the research better methinks. I first read about the place over 10 years or so ago and it was described in glowing terms as a naturist paradise. Now one of the first google results ( http://www.capdagdeinfo.com ) openly describes it as a swingers destination and even seems scornful of the naturists.
I do like the concept though, I maybe we just need to raise a few million and take a look on http://www.abandonedvillages.com and start the whole thing over.
Personally I would not go there as it does seem to be mainly a swingers or at the very least a very sexual location rather than a nudist one and taking a family there no way - but them maybe I'm a prude.
There are many other places to go where one can be nude all the time including shopping without the sex in your face wherever you look.
We have been going to Cap d'Agde for 35 years and although things have changed it is essentially still a great place for a nudist holiday. We just avoid the 'swingers area' and the night life.
G&J
Hi all,
I was used the beach at cap d'adge this august with my husband and daughter. we were staying at a nearby campsite in marsellian plage(non naturist).
our first day was spent at the end where the naturist beach meets the non naturist beach. we felt fine and comfortable and overall safe with our daughter. this however changed from 4 pm onwards the atmosphere started to be more adult and more male. from 4 pm onwards people were constantly backwards and forwards to the dunes. i did see one guy stood there in a bodybuilders pose constantly tugging on his penis. although it wasn't erect.
my husband walked up and down the full length of the beach giving it the full scrutiny and spoke to a few people. we decided the next day to pay to go into cap d'agde and go to the better family orientated end which is next to the harbour wall. we felt instantly better and more comfortable.
would i stay at cap d'agde NEVER. I am not a prude and i'm open minded. but when on holiday with my family its not what i would want. and i certainly don't want my daughter to see men pierced in all sorts of painful places being led up and down the beach by a collar and chain by an equally pierced woman.
but even after all that i had a great week being naked on the beach with the family
just for those who are interested the admission price are: 8 euro per person or 18 euro with a car. children free.
Just back, missing the sun already.
The bit at the top where the Naturist Beach meets Marsellian plage Non naturist bit is the worst bit possible. Luckily if you are passing through you are spared the sight of some of the acts by the single males rushing around the participating couple, like platelets rushing to an open wound, and forming a 'cocoon' of sorts around the participants. But yeh, best entering via the front gate.
I wouldn't even say its 'mostly' swingers in the resort though, although I think it is harder than some people suggest to avoid them. I mean at least one of the swingers nightclubs is right at the beach at the so called 'family' section. How can you get past it without seeing the 'libertine' advertisements and foam party posters?
I had two swinging couples either side of me in my heliopolis apartment. They seemed to like using my balcony as a shortcut between their rooms, in their full leather studded outfits. One morning, around 9:30am I went for a walk in the beach, and on the way back I saw a very happy old man with a penis clip sporting a full erection and waving it at people. This was on the path behind the beach as I was exiting, at the damn family section. A couple ahead of me who saw the spectacle exchanged very puzzled (and slightly disgusted) looks.
One night I sat out on my balcony, reading, only to start to hear what I can only describe as a kind of orgasm yodeling competition between couples in Heliopolis.
Saying all that, I did get in a week without clothes, got a lot of reading done on the beach, got a decent amount of walking/jogging in. And a nice tan. I did have a quick look in the camping section (from the outside in through, as it's all securely fenced in), and it does look a bit more properly naturist. Maybe in a few years I might give that bit a go if I brave the resort again.
Overall, disappointing. Too many instances where I could only exclaim to myself "Jesus f***ing christ". Might have been my own unrealistic expectations - I've been reading about the place since I was just 18, and finally got to go only for those expectations to be tainted. I note that some frustrated naturists have seemingly set fire to the swingers nightclubs at points. I don't condone violent acts, but I can understand their frustrations. This is so close to being a naturist paradise, and its being ruined by a minority of people who've taken over for their own ends. Paradise lost?
If I learned one thing from this trip it's that I do not want to see another damn penis clip, ever.
Did I mention the hells angels showed up? Lots of them showed up. I know they'll not bother you if you don't bother them, but some people may find their presence intimidating.
One plus point was the ladies of Peng France, who were very helpful the whole time. Especially when you are like me and can never make a booking without somehow screwing *something* up.
Very amusing report leem, thank you. The sorry saga of Cap has been dealt with on here, especially informatively by Jacques if you search. We share your pain. I haven't been, but in Cap's heyday in the 80s, H&E covered it constantly and it looked so much fun to me then around 10. Paradise lost indeed.
