I think the best way to describe this beach is rustic!
There were quite a few people there and a good mix. It is perhaps popular because it is only an easy half mile walk from the ferry terminal, although ferry may be a bit of an overstatement - WW2 landing craft to be exact! and when it hit the beach with the ramp down, I was expecting John Wayne and a platoon of US Comandoes storming ashore with all guns blazing! The "ferry" is from Pounta on Paros Island and takes less then ten minutes to make the crossing (1.40 euro each way) They run every 20 minutes and it is possible to make the trip, and the beach, part of a day trip if staying on the island of Paros. I was fortunate and booked two nights in a hotel on Antiparos so no rush.
After getting off the ferry, turn right and follow the road past the harbour and continue for another 150 meters. here you see a sign for Antiparos camping. Follow the signs and this takes you past the camp site. The track continues down to the beach which has a sign saying "Nudist beach since the 70" Where the S went I don't know. There were a good mix of people on the beach and in the middle of the afternoon, an ice cream/burger/drinks van arrived, chimes chiming to announce its coming.
The beach is split into two sections separated by a rocky headland. Both are about 50 meters long and backed by scrub and dunes. There appeared to be an equal amount of people in both areas.
Just offshore, about 100 meters or so, is a deserted island. It is possible to wade most of the way across to it (swimming about 20 metres in the deepest part) and many of the beachgoers make this trip and ramble the island naked. There is another island just off the coast of the first and this is wadeable, again deserted and people wandering around naked on there too.
Maybe tomorrow I will try to do both, alhough swim shoes are advisable as when I tried to make the first one today, the last ten meters is weed encrusted rocks, home to spiney sea urchins - Ouch!

Hi Peter
Thanks for the memory!
May and that beach seem so long ago!
But we can always look forward to the next visit
Googeled this island, beach, and hotel Peter. Looks lovely.
The beach at Tingaki on Kos was great, but the town was very average. Although the people were friendly and welcoming.
With only one foreign holiday a year in the budget, it is such a dilemma when people come up with new places and ideas.
