Perhaps a photography forum would be more suitable than a naturist one.

That's where I'd ask for models, if I were wanting to expand my experience photography.

I tried that Stevielorna, but they don't take kindly to the photographer being naked, lol. Besides, I'm offering my services to naturists.

It would need to be in the New Year but we could be interested !!!!,....if distance is a problem we could always 'put you up' for the night !!,...is there a portfolio of your work anywhere that we could look at ????

I am probably missing something here
If you want to practice taking portraits why do you need to be naked to do this ? Presumably you only want to photograph naked people ?
You would turn up, strip off take some pics and get dressed again ?
We wanted some naked pictures taken of us we asked a good friend of my wife, she was coming round one evening anyway she snapped away and took some great pics, I think that she is our friend we were very relaxed and this shows in the photos I think

Spike and Steve are right really. In my view taking really good 'naturist' portraits is a damn sight harder than textile ones. And in any portrait work although you HAVE to know a good deal about light as well as lenses and all the paraphernalia, actual photography is only about 40% of portraits, interpersonal skills being the 60%. Hence why having pics taken by people you know helps.

Joining a camera club might help, but not always because many clubs tend to have more focus on trees and insects rather than people photography ( a huge generalisation I know but it's been my experience).

But you can do a lot for yourself.  Check out the people sections of 500px.com and try to figure how the lighting was done in portraits on there. Take a wander around the thousands of Youtube videos on 'how-to' with both continuous, flash and natural light. Then try out a few ideas on folks you know and learn how to develop your ideas.

You could then think about something like Purpleport (purpleport.com ) where you can hire a model at quite reasonable cost or even share a shoot on a trade basis. Experienced models are usually extremely helpful to newcomers and frankly they're worth their weight in gold to give you confidence.

I think it' a generous offer. I've been a naturist for years - I do have a few naked pictures during events (like at the naturist foundation) or holidays but the number of these pictures is quite limited, especially  compared to the numbers of shots from other occasions. I don t think I would be comfortable asking non naturist friends to do it - maybe because I am kind of shy and wouldn t dare to ask the question

Having worked as a Life Model it might be an interesting experience to be photographed although I'm more Homer Simpson shaped with a lived in look now than I was then!

There's also www.posespace.com where there are models taken from literally all sorts of angles.

Not sure when the photos would come out for general consumption though.

Chris, you are not the first to offer such services, and I guarantee you won't be the last.

We have our own DSLR and use it often.

I don't suppose I am , or will be stevielorna and I'm pleased you do have your own camera. Enjoy it.

christoff45, how are we to improve if others keep there models to themselves, at the naturist corner chat meet we should have a photographic time to see how we can improve I am sure JFO will bring his Tracksuit so we can get going 🙂 ;D
