Although I had always been interested in the idea of naturism and had tried being naked as much as possible at home, I consider our first proper time to be when my wife and I went on holiday to the Greek Island of Lesvos. Having been to Greece a few times we had fallen in love with the pace of life and the freedom we felt.
On about the third day we hired a scooter, travelled along the coast and found a great secluded bay. Then after daring and teasing each other for a little while we both stripped off, the feeling of being just natural was great and we felt so lucky to be there.
Next thing we knew a textile rambler came stumbling over the rocks - we didn't have time to cover up so brazened it out (not being sure of the laws).
After he walked on we had a good laugh, and decided if that was the worse embarressment, that we could easily to do this more often.
The rest as they say is history and have been going to nudist beaches here and in Greece for many years.
The twist in the tail here is that when we got back to our hotel we saw the "rambler" coming out of the room next door - he was staying there !! (Still didn't put us off though,,,,)

Our first time was broadly similar only in Crete. But prior to that we had not been into "indoor home" nudity in anyway at all except sleeping and showering which doesn't really count. There is something magic about that first experience which sets most of us on the road to naturism with differing degrees of enthusiasm. In our case we do somethings nude in the home but not really that much and then only because it is often more practical, so much depends on the temperature. That said we always look forward to bare beach experiences when we can. Long since ceased to be concerned about textiles seeing us and if they say anything, which is nearly always friendly, we simply suggest that they try it saying how good its feels. We came to naturism later in life (me 50+ and my wife 40+), we have never been interested in nude socialising or joining a club as all our friends and family are committed textiles. I think there are a lot like us who just go bare on the beach when they can. Only regret not trying it a lot sooner in life.
I did go through a sort of mid life crisis being really enthusiastic on all things nude but my wife never did and I have largely grown out of that way of thinking.

Lesvos(Lesbos) is a great place and we will be there again this year. There are loads of quiet beaches and places to get an all over tan. But you do need transport to get to them. The locals dont seem to use the beeches until late afternoon which is cover up time.
