Frankly I have no idea.
France 4 Nature is a purely commercial association of independent resorts that share a common platform for advertising, booking etc., this is all. It's quite possible that L'Origan was not "dropped" by France 4 Naturisme, but that for some reason they decided to leave, perhaps because they found that the cost was too high for what they got in return or for some such reason, who knows.
I'll enquire and let you know if I hear anything.
I have no inside information, and so I am not certain that what I am writing is the actual reason.
Neverheless: my enquiries have made me learn that Fédération Française de Naturisme have long accused the people who run L'Origan of being too tolerant of libertines and of turning a blind eye.
People who know L'Origan say that this is not a problem during the week, but that some of the weekend visitors are a bit dodgy, and that the restaurant occasionally accommodates parties that are strictly 18+ at the weekend.
If this is the reason why L'Origan was dropped from the France 4 Naturisme, I must say that I totally agree. But on the other hand, a great place like L'Origan must not be abandoned as we have (to all purposes) abandoned Le Cap d'Agde. In any case, it must be made clear to naturist resort managers that they cannot have it both ways.
But all who know L'Origan stress that this is only a minor inconvenience, as L'Origan is basically a family resort set in a wonderful part of the country, that it is quite easy to stay there and not even be aware of that problem, and they are all adamant that it has absolutely nothing to do with Le Cap. Although I follow the naturist scene in France very closely I must say that I had never been made aware of the problem at L'Origan.
I notice that L'Origan now belongs to another commercial organization, Naturstar http://www.natustar.com/ , along with Domaine Laborde, Les Lauzons, Bagheera, Le Colombier and Club Nature.
These clubs tend to offer slighter lower standards of accommodation and equipment, and slightly lower prices.
Natustar has repeatedly proved that they have zero tolerance for anything that smacks of the libertine, which is good news.
Thank for the update is always nice to know that origan is with another company. It's sad that libertines ruin things cap agde is a place we would never consider as it not really our sort of thing. Thanks again Jaques for the information as we had considered flying to NIce for a ten day break in June. Susan☺☺

I am sorry and disheartened to read the above. I always really liked the look of Origan in the brochure.

Why not request the Natustar brochure from their web site - see Jacques' post above.

I quite agree with John. The fact that L'Origan has been taken on board by Natustar is regarded here by many as a very positive sign.

Sorry - when I write "here" I mean "here" for me, that is "over there" for most of you: in France. 😉
Sorry not had time to respond! Am glad that the situation at Origan is how it should be. I always liked the look of the surroundings there.

From the information that I gathered about the last few years, grievances seemed to centre on the restaurant.
This may be the reason why this year's brochure for L'Origan which I received yesterday opens with the statement that the former manager of the restaurant has left and that the management of the restaurant will now be assumed by the resort itself:
"In 2016 and for the first time, the owners of L'0rigan will assume the management of the restaurant; our cook will welcome you with pleasure with local culinary specialties."
Morning folks,
Thanks for the update Jacques.
