There is wood near me called Wainbody Wood, just off the Kenilworth Road heading towards the Gibbet Hill roundabout. I've been there many times on barefoot walks with meetups and by myself.

I decided that if I was going to try public naturism anywhere it was there. It is quiet and isolated, used only by dog walkers. In addition it's easy to see people coming.

So I parked up and wandered in with a bag, T-shirt and shorts. I took off the shirt and then waited for any nearby houses to dissappear from view before taking off the shorts.

I remember thinking 'this is just nuts', my heart racing, constantly searching my environment for signs of being compromised. Initially I walked around a bit and then started to relax a little.

Then I stopped and looked down my naked, unfettered body. And it kind of just hit me that 'this' was completely natural. There was nothing perverse about this, nothing untoward. It's just how it's meant to be...

Apparently Stephen Gough had the same epiphany but he has the courage and fortitude to commit to it 247365, no matter what.

I wandered a bit more before finding a quiet spot and took off my glasses and abandoned my bag, just so I could be completely barren in nature. The day was bright and the birds happy.

Then, eventually, I found my bag and returned to my usual norms.

But I still wanted to find somewhere more local so I tried down the road. I did indeed find a quiet place but it isn't particularly private. On the way back though I saw a tree and wondered if, perhaps, I could climb it.

I made it about halfway up, no clothes definitely helped as shorts would have otherwise restricted my leg movement. So I made it up and then wished to take a photo. But my phone was in my clothes on the ground. So I descended, got the phone but with no pockets I stuffed it in my mouth like some digital naked pirate (arrrr!) and then ascended again.

Unfortunately there is a house window opposite that makes exposure possible so it's not something I would risk trying often.

After the photo op I descended, dressed and went home, amazed that I hadn't fallen out of the tree  (my tree climbing experience was nonexistant until that point).

Fun times...
