Well actually it was 'my' first time and a beach near Barmouth. I'd heard of the place and decided to venture out and give it a go. The beach was pretty quiet and i didn't any issues with removing my clothes.
I have to admit, the feeling of being naked outdoors did arouse me and i found it difficult to hide the fact (blush).
One i'd tried it i mentioned it to my wife, who at first didn't show any interest.
Wemanaged to both visit the same beach a year later and after some time relaxing in the sun, we both stripped of and completely enjoyed the experience. Julie was in fits of giggles at my, yet again, attempt to hide my arroused state.
Since then, i have managed to persuade my 'cheeky chappie' to behave himself and can now fully enjoy the freedom of being naked.
We both love it.

Welcome and let me say that the feelings you expressed are far from unique. My biggest concern about going nude on a beach before I became a naturist was involuntary arousal. I suppose this was because as a textile to me at the time the only motivation for going nude in a "social" setting was a sexual one. However, what so many people find is that once you have dared for the first time you discover just how much nicer it feels to be clothes free. My first time was on a practically deserted beach with my wife though since then we have been on many more popular beaches. Arousal just doesn't happen in public though it does if we are nude as a couple in a place indoors or outdoors where passion can prevail, i.e. private or where we think are alone.
We will never join a club (that is our choice) but will continue to use nude beaches when on holiday in the UK and Europe. We do go nude in the home at times and are taking steps to make our garden more secluded.
