Hi peeps, first time here, so I hope I am going about this the right way!!

Hubby& I are taking a break from our usual destination this year (we usually go to the Basque region in France, we love Hendaye beach!), we have booked an apartment in Zahora in Spain. The place is between Cadiz to the west & Gibraltar to the east, we are told there are plenty of naturist beaches there, any one here know anything about this region?

Hello there!

My wife and I stayed at Los Canos de Meca last summer, just down the coast from Zahora (and round the cape of Trafalgar).

The beach there is lovely and clothing optional at the eastern end, once past the town. The town of Los Canos de Meca is very quiet, not much happening there at all, although we were there before the main season in early June. Still, a lovely beach.

We also walked along from Los Canos to the cape, most of which was done nude by me, but as is often the case the wind was incredibly strong there and the sandblasting was quite an experience! That eastern end by Los Canos is the more sheltered part.

As for the coast between Zahora and Cadiz, I think I did read about other options along there, but never got round to checking them out... would be interested to read about anything you find there. Have fun!

Thanks for that Jon, i have heard that los Canos de Mecca has nude beaches, also read that there are natural springs which fall onto the beach, maybe even mud baths! Any thoughts?
The beaches at Zahora are the main town beach which I presume is textile, but the other beach to the west (los Mangueta?) may be CO, we will have to investigate!

Ok boys & girls......we now have a new favourite beach! Playa Mangueta has to be one of the most gorgeous, laid back & unspoilt beaches we have ever had the pleasure of visiting!
Once I work out how to transfer photos from my iPhone to our PC I will post a couple!
For the record, la mangueta is the western-most of the two beaches that Zahora has to offer. It is mainly nude thoughj being CO there was a few textiles there, but the level of co-existence was admirable. If anyone wants directions I would be happy to provide them.
