I was probably a bit of a late starter by having my first naturist experience at around 30.
I was on holiday in skiathos with my first wife. Having been around the island on a boat trip we went past a place called banana beach which apparently was a nude beach. Having never been to one we decided we would go, more for a giggle than anything else. Once there my wife decided that all she could manage was to go topless. Myself I decided that I might as well go for it and after pulling my trunks off I was probably bright red ( I would like to think this was due to sunburn rather than embarrassment). Initially I was only bold enough to lay on my stomach but after a while I plucked up the courage to go for a swim. Wow, felt great.

I'm not sure being 30ish is a late starter, Poddy.
yes there are some people who are brought up in naturism but most of us aren't and have to "find" it some time. Mostly I suspect this happens after you have left school, left home and are out in the big world. As such 30ish would I think be fairly normal.
My first beach experience was when I was about 23, my second at about 26. i didn't start attending events until I was in my 40s....and now I'm in my 50s I can't stop!
Boundaries are there to be stretched!
