I still see RunningBear occassionally cycling down the A38 past my house, but he hasn't been active online for 5 years-ish now. Don you can probably get hold of if you can catch him around. Nothing is organised these days as far as I know. On the other hand I'll certainly be walking a few times this summer in the general areas of their walks. In fact two of my favourite walks, one on the Quantocks and one on Exmoor are exact routes originally walked by the SSB group. The Exmoor one I did last year with a fellow NCer (there's a report under Walks I think).

I was wondering where Graham (Running Bear) had got to. He was very active online at one time. The SSB walks were somewhat out of area for me, but I really enjoyed the one I joined. It's a shame they are not still running.

Graham has shown no interest in walking of late, but assists at various WNBR events, particularly the organising of the Exeter one.
Unfortunately the group has failed to organise any walks, motivation having been lost after the death of Sid Weston.
Sorry that I didn't respond earlier.
I do still walk occasionally on Exmoor, but generally alone.

I met Sid several times at Abbey House, on the walk with SSB of course (he provided some excellent bacon butties from his camper van) and also once just for a coffee at a pub halfway between my home and his (about 70 miles each way for each of us). Sid was a true Gent and a loss to us all in many ways.

If I find myself heading in that direction with some time available, I will post a note and see if anyone is up for a walk.
