I don't have a favourite beach, but the bathing place I would most like to return to is the "Bain de Diane" on the Ile du Levant off the south of France.

I only got one opportunity to swim and snorkel at this location when I stayed on the island last year and very much want to try again.

As you can see in this picture from a hotel web site there is a small jetty with a ladder from which to swim and there are plenty of comfortable sunbathing ledges in the cliffs and no sand to bother you.

Edited to add that the photograph is part of a sequesnce on the web site of Heloitel, one of the hotels on the island.

Pictures of the Bain de Diane can be seen on the web site of Heloitel as the first and eighth pictures of this photo sequence and also on the web site of La Ponant hotel on this page.

Sam, there's a thread on this forum with quite a lot of information about Île du Levant : http://www.naturist-corner.net/community/index.php?topic=4823
I might add that, this not being a "resort" as such, you cannot expect much entertainment apart from what you get in bars or restaurants.
Spend a fortnight there? This depends on your expectations. Since there is no other way of going out of the island than the boat to Le Lavandou, you might end up feeling a bit cramped on the island. The boat takes half an hour if it goes direct to Le Lavandou, one hour if it calls on the island of Port Cros first. The return ticket is 28 euros. Same price form Hyères, but this takes 1 hour and a half (with a call at Port Cros).
On the other hand, if sunshine, restful nights and swimming/snorkeling, is the order of the day, plus the impression of getting away from it all, this is the place for you.

Hello John, I can't access any of the pages that you mention for Heliotel. I have found their website http://www.heliotel.net but I can't find any "info" page...

The web site has obviously been updated in the five years since my original post - I suggest you use youe favourite internet search engine to get more information - that it what I did before going there (by train).
