... at the Prested Hall swim recently.
It was great being in the pool, sauna and steam room nude.
Have to be honest it felt a bit surreal talking with others - of both sexes obviously - in the changing rooms.
So I'm interested to know, how long does it take before being in that kind of situation i.e. chatting socially with other naked people stops feeling kinda weird and starts feeling 'normal' - or does it ever??
Thanks to those at the Prested swim who made me feel welcome, especially as a guy on my own (reluctant wife syndrome...)

You'll probably always get a buzz from being naked, alone & in company especially, but after a few visits you'll relax & just enjoy the company of friends with a common ethic, it's great!
Good post jez, we were wondering the same , still looking for good places that we might start out with going naked in the North, advice always welcome
Are you members of British Naturism? They are a good source of information about clubs, events & swims etc. in your area. there should be loads around you in a highly populated area. Don't worry about being naked with others, once everyone else strips while chatting & catching up, introduce themselves & just behave 'normally' but but with the advantage of being naked & much more friendly!

After years of not being able to enjoy social nudity although to me it's normal to be nude it still gives me a buzz at both being naked and socialising in the naturist way.
Seeing people with bits of cloth on their bodies on a beach now definitely seems abnormal!

The BN web site has quite a lot of information for non-members and there is also the NUFF site.

Do not do unto others as you would that they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same.

I had tried a nudist beach once on my own, and my wife and I tried one last year but briefly due to the poor weather.
This year we did the midsummer skinny dip with 400 other dippers. This was quite an experience as most were nervous but excited. Then the countdown started and we all stripped off and ran into the surf. What an amazing feeling with so many others - and strange to be chatting happily with naked strangers as we came out and dried off.
We have made new friends and are meeting up again for a beach party and dip.
Wow must be amazing in still wanting to take the plunge as it were so I'm trying to find good venues etc
that is one thing that does bother me is the first experience with others as im very self concious about my body
I did my first a few years ago in Norway, in the summer of course. I actually stumbled across a naturist beach unintentionally. As I was the only one dressed I had 2 options, 1 leave the beach immediately or get naked too. I did the 2 nd choice. I sat quiet away from everyone else at first but after a while moved in closer. I found it rather strange when total strngers came over and said hello. At first i didn't know where to look or what to do.
Since then I have been once more to naturist resort, this tie in Charco del palo in Lanzarote. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt very relaxed.
