Found a lovely beach yesterday. We were due to take a late ferry out of St Malo and as we'd looked round the town several times before decided a beach was the best option.
We found Plage des Chevrets which is about 8 miles out of town. Head out of St Malo on the D355 and then head to the road close to the north coast. A mile or so before Pointe du Grouin you see an old chapel with a narrow road leading downhill to a large beach car park. Park the car here, toilets and sandwich bar are on the car park. Head towards the far east end of the beach for the naturist and best end of the beach. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
We had a great time and the water was lovely too. We went in Cancale for a wonderful meal and thought about going back to the beach. Be warned, St Malo empties and they all head for the beaches and there is little parking. We only saw one other UK vehicle and the locals park wherever they can.
It could be a usful beach for you whilst "passing though".

Lovely beach, but what a lot of textiles in the picture. :-[ ;D

Naturist bit is at the far end. Took a quick pic as we left, almost an after thought. Don't really like having the camara on the beach. Sand and cameras can be bad news.

There are a few on the market which are water and dustproof.
The Pentax WP and Olympus SW are two of them and both are very good.

A good guide book to the naturist areas in France (camping sites, beaches) is "Guide du naturisme" in the collection entitled "Petit Futé". It's in French of course... but it's easy to find (it's available from Amazon, for instance), it costs 14 euros and is updated every other year. The information that it provides is not commercial: the authors are old hands at naturism, they have actually tried all the beaches and the camping sites themselves, and they state what their likes and dislikes very clearly. I like to have the book in my car when I travel through France, just in case. It has also got some (very patchy) information about the rest of Europe.
