Is anyone familiar with this naturist beach? I spotted it by chance on Google maps - between Marbella and Fuengirola. We are off to Spain in just over a week and will be staying very close so will give it a try. Just wondered if anyone has used it?

Well we are just back from our 3+ weeks on the Costa del Sol and were delighted to find this beach was only a 10 minute stroll from where we were staying at Los Amigos Beach Club. It is roughly equidistant between Fuengirola and La Cala.

It's a nice sheltered beach at the eastern end with a beach bar that serves tapas during the week. It is a bit stoney but with lots of sandy areas to sunbathe. It's not really good for smimming from as there are rocks all along the waters edge but you can have a paddle. The beach extends in a westerly direction for about 500 metres so there is potential to go for a stroll.

The main beach area was mostly couples with a few singles and groups of friends. The extended stretch to the west had a few people, mostly singles, here and there. On the beach itself there was virtually 100% nudity. As the beach bar is easily accessible from the road it gets used by a number of textiles but I did see people eating there naked and I went to the bar naked to buy drinks to take back to the beach without any trouble. (We did not try the food.)

The beach is well signed with a large "PLAYA NUDISTA" sign when travelling eastwards along the A7 dual carriageway but you can't park on this side. There is however a bus stop right by the steps down to the beach. If travelling by car from this direction then come off just after at the El Faro turn and head back. On the westbound carriageway then take the turn immediately after passing Los Amigos Beach Club and you can park by the veterenary hospital in front of which is a footbridge over the road.

I intend to put some photos in the media centre shortly.

Yes, we tried it a few years ago but, maybe because it was out of season (January), there were hardly any other naturists on the beach and we ended up being stared at by perverts. After a short time we packed up and decamped along the coast to Benalnatura which is a beach we love anyway. I suppose we should maybe give it another try at a different time of year.

A very informative review - thanks!

I was aware of the beach, but haven't visited.

I think the google streetview link shows the access from the main road?

We're just back from 10 days on the Costa del Sol, staying at Los Amigos Beach Club, and of course made full use of the Playamarina nudist beach. As this was the first time we have been down there in the high season I thought it would be useful to update my report of 3 years ago.

This really confirmed our impression of what a great beach this is. At this time of the year there were lots of people, all naked (apart from a few women with bikini bottoms) and included couples, family groups and singles (both male and female). What was really good to note was that the mix was fairly even between male and female and that the age range was a lot wider than is often the case on naturist beaches.

The beach bar is still good and well used. Although most people who eat there are clothed there is no problem in staying naked if you want to. In the event I only went up for take-away beers for the beach so didn't try the food but it looked good. Nice clean toilets by the bar and sunbeds on the beach in front of the bar (€15 per day for 2 beds and a sunshade). This is the busiest end of the beach but if you walk westwards along the beach there is plenty of space to find your own spot. Although there are a lot of rocks/stones at the water's edge we found places at the eastern end of the beach where you could get into the water to swim.

If you are in the area I would highly recommend you give it a try.
