I have seen posts about st osyth nude beach but they are quite old now. Most seem quite negative. I'm not worried about it being a long walk to get there. More the type of people you get there being as I'll be alone.  I'm just wondering what it's like (from last summer lol) now. I am very keen to try a nude beach. This seems to be the closest one to me.
Thank you x

I go to st osyth quite regularly in the summer. To be perfectly honest it's not a bad beach. Like you say it is quite a walk. And there isn't any signage to say where the nude beach starts. But it's not hard to figure out. The far end of the beach is mainly used by swingers and such. It doesn't get that busy there. You do get couples using the beach but it is mostly single men. As a single women be prepared for the meerkats popping up to have a look. Some will stop and chat but from what I've seen it's all very friendly.
Hope this helps a bit

Hi Sarah,
I used to live in Essex but never heard much good about St Osyth and never went there so can't help much on that front. It's good to see that you can drive, as naturist places and events in the UK are somewhat spread out. If you want a beach, the one at Leysdown - on the Isle of Sheppy in Kent is not a bad bet. It's official and easy parking right behind it so no long walk. In my day (4 yrs ago) the behaviour seemed good.
Closer to home, the sunday swim at Prested Hall, nr Clochester is a very good bet to check out. Friendly and great facilities. For an outdoor experiance, look up the Naturist Foundation in Kent, an easy drive and they run some fun events, including Party in the Stark. Hope you enjoy the naturist life.

Yes it does and very light wind and from the south. It is East winds to watch out for.
Not over hot though!

Don't expect too much but if you want can walk for along way clothed or not. Is a bit of a walk from the car park. Hopefully the big sign to the naturist beach has been repaired, it did blow down in gales.

Have a great time.

If you are really nervous it could be worth considering the Naturist Foundation for a day visit, as Keith suggested.

Not too far a drive from Essex at all, great facilities, and a friendly welcome guaranteed.

I would like to try a club. I guess it's warmer without the coastal winds. But I really want to try a beach. Love a beach lol

So....i drove down to st osyth. I sat in the car for a while to try and build my self up. I had a quick drink in the sailor boy for Dutch courage. And i didn't end up going. I couldn't build up the courage. I think I need some one to go with. To give me that push/encouragement.
I felt like I'd let myself down by the time I got home. Very annoyed with myself.

Don't be. Your first time is never going to be easy. You'll get there. And you'll love it

Sorry to hear that Sarah, though totally understandable as it can seem such a big step at first. Don't worry it does get a lot easier and once you have done it a few times you will wonder what the worry was for.
Hope you do find a friend to join you - remember on a beach they dont have to strip too, they are CO (clothes optional).
Wish you luck.
Keith
