I went years ago when david used to run it but i now beleive a couple called sunnybuns have leased it.
The accomadation in certain lodges was  a bit low but the evening meals was very good.
I have heard Sunnybuns are giving it a good go, worth a visit and report back.
Never went on the naturist beach in the village but plenty of nice ones around.

Quinta de Horta has been taken over and has had a complete revamp. There are many other naturist places in Portugal. If you let us know what you are looking for we can point you in the right direction.

Not looking for anything special just a naturist place that not too pricey but is ok.
Most important is that its clean.

I stayed at the Quinta da Horta for a week in September 2011 and cannot recommend the place highly enough. Ted, Val and their staff were very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for their guests. The place itself is simple, comfortable and very clean with beautiful grounds and a nice pool. I had booked only a single room for my stay, but on arrival was upgraded to a double at no extra charge. A very substantial breakfast was also included in the price. Evening dinners (extra charge) were also organised a couple of nights each week and were truly delicious. If you are seeking a relaxing, peaceful holiday in a friendly environment then this is the place for you.

We stayed at the Quinta many many times over 3 or 4 years from around 2002 when Fran and David ran it (as far as we are aware, they still own it but rent it to Ted and Val).  We originally produced the video that David used to send out for free.

The cottages were always clean and prettily decorated but very basic, particularly the bathroom and the showers which frankly in most of the cottages were from a different age altogether. I understand that the cottages have been renovated by Ted and Val but it would be as well to check about the bathrooms before booking, or manage your expectations accordingly.

One of the advantages of the Quinta was that it pitched itself as 'clothing optional' and it was very successful in delivering on that. I realise that many naturist purists may throw their hands up in horror at the thought, but in practice it enabled many chaps with 'reluctant' wives to go there on holiday and enjoy the facilities. There was complete freedom for cossie or not in the pool and never ever any stigma attached, making the reluctant half feel extremely comfortable.  I don't not know if this has been continued so again, do check before booking.

The other aspect is about beaches.  Whilst it's entirely possible to get to a couple of them on foot from the Quinta, it's a bit of a hike and in one case a clamber down a very steep cliff and in the other case a good understanding of tide tables to avoid being marooned by the incoming!  Other than the far end of the Ferragudo town beach (not a particularly nice one) you really need to have transport to get you out and about to the really good ones. 

Thanks Cheery and John for an informative write up; we're going off again in our van for a few weeks this year and are looking to stop in Portugal at a  few campsites while touring round - obviously if we can find naturist campsites that'll be great as we just love being able to go naked all day and evening. May well put Quinta on the route, also may stop at a new site that another NC forum member is setting up so that's two places.

If you've any other suggestions in Portugal/spain that takes campers would love to hear of them, as we see you've travelled quite a lot from your profile!
