Looking for advise here. We’re off to the Isle Of Portland on the 6th/7th July. First time we’re staying there. Does anyone have first hand experience/recommendations of any naturist beaches there? Otherwise we’ll take ourselves back up to Studland.

Thanks in advance.

If you go to West Bexington and park next to the beach, then walk north-west along the coast path for 10 minutes or so, you should find plenty of solitude.

It is a recognised spot, but usually very quiet, so you may be on your own. We've been on a hot August Bank Holiday and had the place almost to ourselves. Oh and it might be worth considering either a beach shelter or sun umbrella, because there's no shade.

The beach is shingle, which is banked up, so walkers on the coast path can't see down to the water's edge.

Take care in the sea, because the access shelves sharply and there can be strong currents along Chesil - if it's rough probably best avoid anything other than paddling unless you're a strong swimmer.

Lovely away-from-it-all spot, but easy to get to providing you can nab a parking space.

Ringstead is about six miles east of Weymouth , a quiet bay of fine shingle that shelves quite steeply into a clear sea.  The eastern side of the bay and onwards to White Nothe have always been naturist friendly.  I haven't been there for about seven years, but IIRC you can either park at Ringstead Village , or at the NT car park further up the cliff. Either way you'll have to pay and it's a twenty to thirty minute walk but a lovely location.

Worbarrow bay is also a fantastic spot if you're prepared for a long trek . It's part of the Lulworth Range, so only open weekends and school hols . Park at Tyneham Village , walk along a track to the sea ( 25 min) then walk west alonig the shore for another twenty minutes - it's hard going on the shingle, but it's a stunning place and well worth the walk . Sea is very clear and the towering chalk cliffs make it feel very isolated and a great sun trap.  Fair chance you'll have the place to yourself.

Ringstead is a pleasant beach, the storms this winter seem to have improved things. I often walk to it along the coastal path from Osmington.

On portland there is a place called Chiswell Cove, there's a great pub called The Cove on the seawall and a seafood cafe "Quiddles". Walk along the seawall past these . The path starts breaking up, keep going there are plenty of places hidden away. Chiswell is a locals beach. It's not a naturist beach but it may be worth exploring. It's a beautiful cove on a sunny day.

Just been to Ringstead today, there were quite a few people. I parked my camper van and enjoyed a walk from The smugglers pub @ Osmington Mills. Too busy to walk naked.
