Tried the area out after finding it described on walkingbritain.co.uk as a quieter Peak District option at weekends. Managed about half the walk naked on Saturday before the afternoon got a little too busy, and it seemed prudent to put on a layer. Didn't realise there was a scout camp by the path early on in the walk, but fortunately I hadn't undressed by then and I gave it a good distance before I did - not that we saw any of the kids, only their tents. I figure as a naturist if you're going to be misunderstood, it's probably better it happens somewhere that isn't within sight of a scout camp.
It's a lovely route starting in trees and opening out onto the uplands just north of the Roaches, so scenic too. So, once past the camp, I could easily imagine it being a very good option on a weekday, depending on how busy the section near the Roaches gets.

Probably eight to ten people passed, adult couples, friendly greetings shared.

I've walked around the back of the Roaches and to the north going to Three Shires Head and onto Cheeks Hill. There's plenty of free range possibilities in this area. Further north still you've got the Goyt Valley and Shinning Tor.
