Had a great day down at the beach today. Being the first person down there (it's a bit of a walk) I decided to take some "control" of the main beach rather than clamber over to the usual naturist bit in the next bay along. Naturists do use the far right side of the main beach from time to time when the tides are against us and if textiles have not already taken residence.
So I parked myself on the right of the main beach fairly near the back out of the way but still in general view (from a good distance) of anyone entering the beach from the steps down. I think leading by example worked very well. A couple of guys passed by on their way to the other side, Then a group of four (two couples) arrived and three stripped off in the middle of the main beach and went for a dip. I went over after a while a had a chat. They were German on a whislt stop tour of the south coast and just walked down from their stop over site. I don't think that they were looking for a naturist beach, just arrived and seeing what the locals (me) were doing joined in.
Next a middle aged couple were walking naked across the shoreline of the main beach and went for  a skinny dip before sun bathing naked for a while. I didn't get to talk the them but from thier lack of tans I rather think that they were not seasoned naturists, just also seeing others doing it and realsing it is possible here in the UK.

A couple of other naturist guys also settled on the right side of the main beach. The were a few (this is a remote beach) textile couples walk on to the beach and a guy in shorts but no one took any undue notice of us nudies, so we all peacfully co-exisited for the day and had pretty much full acces of the bigger beach.
On my naked walk back up the cliffs to the coastal path I met a couple coming down. I do wrap a towel round me just to show I'm not out to scare. We had a quick chat about the weather and tides and I mentioned that it was a clothes optional beach. The lady asked if it is indicated anywhere that it is naturist, I just said that any beach can be clothes optional as its perfectly legal. She said I can see there are people with no clothes on (supprisingly you can genrally tell if someone is naked from a long way away up the cliffs - without seeing any detail). I said there is pleanty of room for everyone and with that they continued down the cliff path to the beach.
I don't think this can happen in the summer school holidays when even this beach gets a dozen or more textile familes come down. But all in all a very positive day with plenty of acceptance (and great weather)
