Went to Petitor beach (my new local beach) for the first time yesterday, (Friday 21/9/2018) the wind was strong but down at the beach its sheltered. Its a good steep walk down. I carried on using the direction of after getting to the bottom of green patch "take the most worn Path" and it worked, Oh at the Tee junction turn left. Only one bit where its was dodgy and that was because it had rained heavily the night before, thankfully in places rocks have been added to the path as steps and also some Knotted rope which was helpful and needed when going back up. it is  a steep walk. Had to rest a few times and managed to get back up in 20 minutes to the gate at the end of Petitor Road.
Only one man on left hand side of the beach when I arrived, it seems to be seperated into two bays slightly by rocks down the centre. , he started to wander over to me whilst I was undressing, so I waved him away and he kindly just turned on his heel and went back to where he was. Another I saw later up in the woods on a a rock platform, seemed a good place. The sun was out but being September the sun dropped behind the trees and cliff by 3PM was pushing me closer to the stones. So if you want the RH side of the beach, best to get there 11ish and go through till 3. There is some recent showing of dirt bank falling by the bottom, though you can still have plenty of places to sit on or in between the rocks, Its not sand but comfortable enough with a thick towel, might use a the foam mat next time.

Having not been getting naked recently due to sorting out our new home and medical it was lovely to feel the sun and breeze on my body and have 2 hrs of reading and relaxing. Bliss.  🙂

Interesting post Yeo. We can walk to petitor beach from our house but we have only ever been there once and that was well over  thirty years ago.

Hi Devon, its a 50 minute bus ride for me from Dawlish Warren. If you drive I am sure Budleigh Salterton or Slapton Sands are easier access. will try it again this year hopefully, have fun in the rain today  >:(

Yes both Budliegh, and Slapton are far easier access. I should imagine that Budliegh is doable by bus from Dawlish Warren,  but Slapton would be a mission.
