Hi - we're toying with the idea of grabbing some early in the year rays and going down to southern Spain in April/May. Our rough itinerary would be to trundle down to El Portus in Cartegna for a week, then on to Almanat sort of in Andalucia/Malaga for a week or so. From threw might go onto Portugal or might just trundle up through central Spain.
Wondering if anyone on here has done anything similar and...
- as it is early in the season is it too quiet and 'not open for business' in terms of restaurants, bars etc near the sites?
- I know there are no guarantees but if the weather is good, is it warm enough for nudity? (Seems to have highs of c22 degrees
- Any thoughts good/bad on these two sites (especially this early in the year)?
- We will have to travel down through France and back again as I get too seasick to do the long ferry across the Bay of Biscay (queasy at the thought of it) so will we find campsites open in France in mid April for our overnighters on the way down?
Any thoughts/ideas positive or negative welcomed. Thanks.

L'oliverie near Poitiers may well be open and if the field is too soggy they also have B&B available.

Id say april/may should be ok.
I dont know of any naturist places in Portugal as yet but interested to hear suggestions too but we had a family holiday in portugal in April and temps were high 20's
I did El portus in November a few years ago too and there was still plenty of people on the beach then
I can't offer any advice on camp sites but as far as the weather is concerned I have been sunbathing on Benalnatura (Costa del Sol) in January many times so April/May should be no problem.
Thanks for the replies, seems a good option.
We've stopped at L'Oliverie a few years ago, it opens on 27th April and it was a nice site but it'll depend on the weather through France whether we go out of our way to find naturist sites as they are usually quite bit off the beaten track. I was more wondering if any campsites will have kicked into action in France by mid April. On our way back we'll stop at Arnaoutchot for a few days as not been there for a few years either, and will seek out more naturist sites en route for stopovers.

As an update we took our dog to the vet for a rabies booster shot as it was due and the vet dropped a bit of a bombshell on us. Apparently if we have a no-deal Brexit then her current pet passport might not be valid (without going into detail there are various possible outcomes and this is the worse-case scenario, we can also do a blood test that might help but at a cost of £150 🙁 ). One option is for to go pre-Brexit in March - anyone know from experience if it'll be warm enough to go naked in March in Andalusia bearing in mind my wife has a low tolerance of the cold...?
Thanks

There's a long-term forecast for Malaga in March with historic averages and a graph at the bottom of the page here.

Thanks John, that's really useful. As expected, temperature looks a bit borderline, especially for my wife 🙁
Have to hope we can still go with the dog in May as originally planned.

If you did go as far as Portugal, here is a list of the only five official naturist beaches in Portugal.
