This beach looks appealing not least because of ease of access. Anyone been there?
Yes, we have. Just walk eastwards from the car park for a mile or so and you'll hardly see anyone except the occasional walker on the coastal path at the back of Chesil beach.
Many thanks for that, I had read perhaps mistakenly, that one should walk west from the car park, so your posting is most helpful, thank you.
Walking west along Cogden beach might well be OK too but we haven't tried it.
I know of Cogden beach but have never been there, tend to use Ringstead, just along from Osmington,, west of weymouth. There is a car park in Ringstead but a free one at White nothe, a walk down to beach. I enjoy the scenic walk, keeps me fit!
I do feel that there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy naked moments, when one explores the coast.
I've discovered one such spot along path from Chiswell, portland.
Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.
Sorry I meant to say East of Weymouth
Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.
I remember going to West Bexington beach for a spot of mackerel fishing while on holiday with my mum way back in the late 1960s and being mesmerised by a group of hippies who were skinnydipping about 100 yards from where I was fishing!!
In fact, writing this reminded me of a customer of mine who was in her 60s the year Brighton’s Black Rock beach went officially clothing optional with all the media attention that got, she told me how she used to go to a beach near Ferring in Sussex with her mum and sister to swim “au naturel” back in the 1930s!!!!!
There's very good mackerel fishing all along that stretch of coast from Burton Bradstock to Abbotsbury
