A couple of years ago the naturist resort in France "La Sablière", a magnificent and huge resort just West of the Rhône valley was put up for sale. An attempt to buy the site by frequent visitors failed (by far) to reach the amount demanded by a lot. I posted about that about two years ago.

Now we learn that the French family-owned group CapFun (formerly known as FranceLoc) has bought not only "La Sablière", but also "Arnaoutchot" (another huge resort on the Atllantic coast) and Bélézy (in inland Provence).

Althoug CapFun did buy the naturist resort "La Grand Cosse" (on the Mediterranean coast) a few years ago and immediately turned it into a textile resort, CapFun pledged to uphold these 3 sites as naturist and to exploit them under the brand "France4Naturisme" (which was the common commercial brand of the 3 recently acquired resorts).

We (as owners of a second-home next Bélézy) are a little worried about the future, but we see no reason to doubt CapFun's word that they are to start a "naturist" department as part of their firm. After all there is a niche market in naturism, with lots of young or youngish families regularly visiting those resorts and lots of foreign customers (mostly from NL, B, D, CH). All three naturist resorts that CapFun has bought were full up Summer after Summer, and made profits.

Looks like we'd all better go to those resorts and be naked, when we're allowed to, to make sure they remain profitable as naturist venues. Use it or lose it!

Yes, it looks like it! As long as these sites keep making a profit as naturist resorts...

On the other hand it may be good for naturists that this big firm will (if they keep their promise) advertise these sites as naturist: somehow it will make naturist sites "mainstream" when they are advertised on the website run by a big firm whose main purpose is to run "textile" resorts. CapFun runs 149 four-star camping-sites throughout Western Europe, from Spain to the Netherlands.

We're all keeping our fingers crossed!
