Hello, I'm in Suffolk and have no naturist friends. I'd like to go on an organised walk somewhere but I no nothing of any that's nearby. Does anyone know of anywhere in Suffolk that's out the way enough that you can go on a naked walk without being spotted, I know it's legal but don't want to have to deal with explaining that to someone so would rather avoid people. Thanks in advance.

If you’re prepared to try a naked walk alone you’ll find loads of advice on the forum here - just search for naked walks and you’ll find both direct “how to” suggestions and experiences of others. It’s daunting at first, but it doesn’t need to be a big hike, just a short stroll to see if you enjoy the feeling.

Wait for others to walk with and you could be losing good walking time!

More Norfolk (maybe?) than Suffolk, but I know several people have posted about bits of Thetford forest (I've walked naked both there and the nearby King's Forest).  Further afield there's the Peter Scott walk on the wash.  It's rather bleak and featureless, but also with good visibility (so you feel safe with regards to unexpectedly meeting people) and also in my experience very quiet.

I'm in Bedfordshire though so it's all a bit far for me generally.   Would love to hear of routes though.

I generally check OS maps (bing maps have free ones if you need) and combine it with the Strava Labs heatmap ( https://www.strava.com/heatmap) as an *indication* (nothing more) of how busy an area is.

Isn't there a formal walking group down there ....

Personally, as I've listed in other posts, I get a good walking map to show all routes 'pathfinder' or similar - physical maps seem to be better than the OS (Ordinance Survey) app, walk them clothed to see if they are suitable, then pick a time when there shouldn't be a lot of people around - normally means small car parking places and a distance from any main places where people live. If your not confident about being seen naked - have some loose simple clothes to quickly slip on i.e. baggy shorts and loose top - better if they are similar to your skin colour so if someone saw you from a distance they wouldn't be sure if you were naked when they got closer - but the vast majority of people will either ignore you, just give you a smile or stop and chat (nicely), there is the odd person who may be negative.

Whatever you do - if someone sees you - don't go and hide in the bushes or similar - it makes it look like you were doing something wrong or about to jump out or similar i.e. it makes other people think what are you up too, rather than another person walking naked (they may have already seen quite a few).
