We spent two relaxing days at Manor Farm last week, so I thought I would post an update for anyone who is interested. Work has started on the improvements, so far there is a new drive leading to the naturist area. This area is going to be extended, which of course is great news.
We work close by and intend visiting very regularly, but only during the week,as we work week ends.We understand there is quite a social atmosphere at week ends with plenty of regulars.
There is electric in the naturist area and of course stunning views of the sea. Slapton beach is a short walk away, so all we need now is some sun!!
Hope this has been helpful to anyone who thought they might like to try it. Caravans, motorhomes, and tents welcome.
Is there any accommodation for those without camping equipment?

Thanks for the update, did have an email from Kate saying she had had work done on the drive, didn't realise it was part of bigger improvements though. I'll be down at Manor Farm in May so hoping for good weather.

Thanks for the update!! We first stayed at Manor Farm in the mid-1970s, when Kate's Dad was the owner. It wasn't naturist then and, in fact, the camping field was on the other side of the lane, and slightly nearer to Strete village then. It was a long narrow field and doubled as a landing strip for the owner of a light aircraft! Tents were pitched around the perimeter.
Not sure exactly when the camping moved to the current field, probably sometime in the 80s. And Kate's Dad allowed naturists to use the cabbage patch to begin with. Only room for about half a dozen outfits max.
I heard a couple of years ago that Kate was planning to expand the naturist area, so was slightly disappointed when we visited last summer to discover it hadn't altered. It's obviously good news if that plan is now back on track. The naturist area is usually much busier than the textile side, so it seems sensible.
One of the things I really like about Manor Farm, apart from the fine views and its proximity to the naturist beach, is the fact that everything is so informal, and there are no peep-proof fences or gates between the naturists and textiles. It's just so sensible!

As with all planning and building, these things do seem to take an age. we will all just have to be patient.
Yes, fully appreciate the need to be patient. However, from my perspective the only thing I was really keen to see was the post-and-rail fence moved up the field to enlarge the naturist area. I don't know, but I'd assume that wouldn't require any sort of planning approval?
Anyway, be very interested to see what transpires. We are certainly big fans of the lovely location. So not really complaining in any way - in fact we're very lucky that Kate makes provision for naturists at such an attractive spot.

We are thinking of going to Manor Farm 3 weeks today , has anyone been lately ? Also are the facilities( showers etc) on the naturist side as well as the clothed ?

Be very interested to see any recent news on developments. We were hoping to get to the Suntrecker meet a couple of weeks ago, but, unfortunately, didn't manage it.
Our last visit was in 2012, and up until then all of the facilities have been in the textile part of the site. Only 2 water taps and a few electric hook-ups in the naturist area. But of course it's possible things have changed since we stayed.

We phoned Kate at short notice when the weather was nice a fortnight ago, but unfortunately all the hook ups were booked. Also all the pitches at the bottom of the field where it is level were booked. ( gas fridge needs to be level ). So we booked into another site in north Cornwall. Surprisingly there were only three units on this site all weekend.
We really like manor farm, and Kate is a wonderful person, but having to dress to use the showers is a bit of a pain, but the fact that we couldn't get in is testiment to the popularity of the site.
The site we ended up at that weekend was lower poulza farm. Another great site.Bernard is a great character, very laid back. Lower poulza is similar to manor farm as far as facilities are concerned.

We shall be at Lower Poulza Post for the week before we intend going to Manor Farm .Might be we shall have 2 weeks there !
One of the good things about being on a naturist campsite is not having to dress to go to the shower block , no clammy damp body trying to negotiate shorts etc after showering .

Anyone familiar with the set up won't notice that much has changed. All facilities, toilets, showers, kitchen etc. are still located in the barn at the top of the textile field so you still have to dress to access these. There are a few hook ups on the naturist side along the fence, (about 10 I think but I didn't count), but apart from water taps that's it for the naturist part.
You no longer have to drive across the textile field to get to the naturist section as Kate has put in a new gravel road, and she also has her own tiny little 'wooden 'house' on the top field. For the first time in several years I noticed the area in the textile field adjacent to the fence remained uncut, thus discouraging campers (textile) pitching up right next to the naturist area.
I think more improvements are in the pipeline but I gues this is a slow process.

And is her 'little wooden house' residential? I know she applied a number of years ago to build a bungalow for herself, but was turned down by the planners at that stage.
